In Romania we have paper money called "leu" which translates to the word "lion". Compared to most other currencies, the Romanian leu is pretty weak (about 4.5 Romanian lei in 1 US dollar), so our coins are pretty insignificant. We have a lot of different banknotes such as 1, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, and 200 (I think I've seen 300 and 500 once. Those are rare). Just like Canadian banknotes, ours are also made of polymer and have semi-translucent shapes. The faces on the Romanian lei ("lei" is plural for "leu") are of famous Romanian writers from the past. 😊🇷🇴
